The Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers (AMUSF) Diploma is the only trade-recognised upholstery qualification in the UK
We are the only centre in the Midlands approved to offer this 3 Stage Course.
Designed for aspiring upholsterers, career changers, creative makers and those wishing to develop a professional practice, the course combines traditional craftsmanship with modern standards, sustainable methods and expert tuition.
We are passionate about encouraging the next generation into the craft of upholstery and helping young people build rewarding, practical careers.
To support this, we are pleased to offer a discounted course rate for anyone aged 18–25 who is looking to develop a future in upholstery.

Our Founder
Hannah Weston Smith - Director of FCA & Upholstery Tutor
Hannah has 15+ years experience as a traditional upholsterer, tutor and restorer. She is the former Chair of the Guild of Traditional Upholsterers and a Freeman of the Worshipful Comapny of Upholders.
Hannah combines hands-on industry knowledge with years of teaching experience and with a passion for preserving high standards of traditional, sustainable craftsmanship.

Course structure
The qualification is delivered over three progressive stages. Each stage typically runs over 12 months with guided teaching hours, projects and assessment.
Commitment is 1 day a week during term time.
